Organization Name OSH-OM/Occupational Medicine What You Will Do
Provide annual psychological evaluations of employees enrolled in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). This program is a federally-mandated requirement for LANL employees in certain job positions related to national security and/or safety-sensitive tasks. The yearly assessment consists of a medical exam, a psychological evaluation conducted with a semi-structured interview, and psychological testing at the initial evaluation and every third year thereafter. Additional duties include evaluating employees referred for Fitness for Duty, including Risk Assessments. Psychologists provide back-up to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), delivering crisis intervention and clinic consultations as needed. As time and interests allow, Psychologist may present topics on behavioral health issues to Laboratory groups.

Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.
The Psychology Team is part of Occupational Medicine, working closely with medical personnel and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as Los Alamos National Laboratory’s (LANL) Employee Relations, Security and Legal departments. Psychologists also interact with management regarding employee behavioral health issues. The Psychologists perform a variety of functions, including annual evaluations for the Human Reliability Program, Fitness for Duty, crisis intervention, and clinic consultations. This job requires a high level of independence and critical thinking. Team members participate in weekly clinical staff meetings, as well as the interdisciplinary weekly Fitness for Duty meetings. What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
- Minimum of 8 years clinical experience.
- Licensed Psychologist in New Mexico, or license eligible.
- Demonstrated expertise conducting psychological evaluations.
- Demonstrated expertise interpreting psychological testing.
- Demonstrated expertise writing psychological evaluation reports.
- Excellent clinical skills.
- Ability to work constructively and collaboratively within a team and across disciplines.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of personnel.
- Attention to detail and documentation.
- Familiarity with the MMPI-2, MMPI-2-RF, PAI, MCMI-III.
- Familiarity with the techniques of forensic psychology.
- Knowledge or experience with work place violence prevention.
- Self-motivated and willing to take initiative.
- Please provide one sample of a de-identified psychological evaluation report.
- Please provide one sample of a de-identified handwritten case note.
