To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by serving as the liaison between physicians or associates, the Department of Clinical Quality, and the Health First Medical Group in the development and use of the Electronic Medical Record(EMR). The Clinical Quality Liaison is responsible for the development of training material and providing superior quality, competitive values, and outstanding service by aligning education delivery to corporate objectives. This includes maintaining advanced knowledge in adult education delivery methods.
Maintains a high level of security as it pertains to system access, computer usage, remote access and physical security in assigned areas of responsibility, abiding by established Health First Information Security policies and applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
Works under the direction of the Director to develop and maintain department policies and procedures regarding EMR training and regulatory compliance with federal initiatives.
Knowledge of security requirements process to submit change requests regarding the EMR system.
Completes competency checklist on all trained providers or associates.
Designs, implements, and evaluates all electronic educational programs using adult learning principles with the oversight of the Director, or his designee. Helps to design custom education tools (educational flyers, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) to enhance and support learning.
Conducts classroom training sessions, in-services, group and individual instruction at the discretion of the Director.
Supports the following application and devices: Centricity EMR and any other additions based on Health First Medical Group priorities.
Assists IT with testing of newly developed encounter forms to be utilized by providers and/or staff.
Participates in approved educational programs and activities keeping abreast of current trends, best practices, and development in education and technology.
Participates in article sharing of activities related to trends and advances in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Displays initiative in acquiring new knowledge and skills to support the requirements of the liaison’s role in Informatics by sharing six (6) articles per year and maintaining a personal spreadsheet to be given to your manager prior to evaluations.
Actively participates in departmental meetings, presenting advanced knowledge of expertise in workflow and data analysis.
Maintains knowledge of the institutional clinical systems, processes, policies and procedures as required.
Proactively maintains and updates training materials and the training environment as directed.
Participates in the system testing process for new functionality or system upgrades.
Maintains a good working rapport with physician population, serving as a liaison between physicians, Super Users, and IT.
Provides education/rounding at all HFMG facilities. Rounding to include needs assessment of current EMR climate, regulatory training, or remedial EMR training at the discretion of the Director. The Director, or his designee, will post and maintain schedule for all Clinical Quality Liaisons.
Clinical experience with a professional license (e.g., LPN), bachelor’s degree in allied health preferred.
Three (3) years experience in allied health in an ambulatory setting using an electronic health record. GE Centricity experience is preferred.
One (1) year experience facilitating education delivery preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse healthcare environment.
Strong verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly enunciate and convey information. Excellent presentation ability.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
