This position requires includes contact with patients, staff, and other health care professionals. This position requires some analysis, sound judgment, and a high level of knowledge of all study specific protocols. The coordinator must maintain the utmost integrity, the highest moral standard, and strict and compulsive attention to detail. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and the regulations necessary for the protection of human subjects and the conduct of clinical research are also required.
  • Administratively and clinically manage an average of 6 to 8 clinical trials
  • Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practices and study protocols
  • Ensure scientific integrity of data and protect the rights, safety, and well-being of patients
  • Discuss study protocols with patients and verify the informed consent documentation
  • Provide patients with written communication of their participation
  • Meet with patient for each visit to discuss questions or concerns regarding the study
  • Dispense study medication in a professional manner following protocol requirements
  • Collect, process and ship blood/urine specimens at scheduled times
  • Performs EKGs and obtains patient vital signs
  • Schedule all patient research visits and procedures consistent with protocol requirements
  • Complete and maintain case report forms per FDA guidelines, and review against the patient's medical record for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure adverse events are properly documented and reported
  • Screen all laboratory results and follow protocol procedure regarding abnormal results
  • Ensures all laboratory results are given to appropriate physicians for review of clinical significance
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to manage professional relationships in a highly diverse environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent organizational and personal skills
