This posting is a permanent, full-time Clinical Social Worker position at Central Regional Hospital, a State Psychiatric Hospital located in Butner, NC. This Position is primarily first shift Monday thru Friday, but some holiday and weekend hours may be required. The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for providing clinical case management services and discharge planning to adults in an inpatient psychiatric setting. There is also the opportunity to provide individual and family clinical interventions, and psycho-education along with the possibility of doing groups. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

Requires thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices, and their application to complex problems associated with adult inpatient psychiatric treatment. This position requires considerable knowledge of a wide range of behavioral and psychosocial problems and their treatment.
Knowledge of individual, family and group dynamics is required. Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies associated with adult inpatient psychiatric treatment. Skill is needed in establishing rapport with clients and in applying techniques of assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of client’s problems. The ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively is required. The position requires a flexible, energetic person with the ability to function as a member of a Interdisciplinary team. ADA Physical requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Master s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of supervised social work experience as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Necessary Special Qualification - one must fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Will also accept Trainee Appointment. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements for Trainee Appointment - Master's degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work and provisional liscense as a clinical social worker by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. Trainee salary is $39,642.
