The Clinical Supervisor at City/County Alcohol & Drug Programs supervises the delivery of comprehensive evidenced-based counseling services provided by clinical staff to those afflicted with substance use disorders. The Clinical Supervisor Is responsible for directing and training clinical staff in providing quality and professional care and treatment.

Masters Degree in a Human Services related field or the equivalent of 6 years experience as a Level III Counselor.

A minimum of 6 years experience in the field of chemical dependency or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years experience in clinical supervision.

Certification / License: South Dakota state certified Level III Counselor. SD Driver's License (within 90 days of moving to SD).

Selection Process:

Background Investigation:
All candidates for employment with the Sheriff’s Office undergo a comprehensive background investigation prior to being made a final offer. The investigation may include but is not limited to a records check, credit review, verification of credentials, and interviews with personal and professional references.

Psychological Evaluation:
A Psychologist interviews and tests the candidate using various cognitive assessments. The Psychologist summarizes the clinical impressions and makes recommendations regarding the candidate’s overall psychological makeup and compatibility with the position.

Medical Screening:
A pre-employment drug screening test is in accordance with Pennington County’s intent and commitment to provide a drug-free workplace.
