Clinicals EDI ManagerThe Clinicals EDI Team works on mission critical projects to expand athena’s interoperability network, enhance care coordination and reduce operating costs for our Clinicals product. Team members build and support inbound and outbound interfaces that include but are not limited to lab results, imaging results, prescriptions and other clinical documents from hospitals, HIEs, RECs, labs, imaging facilities and other providers. The operation additionally supports the company goals related to Meaningful Use specifically measures pertaining to Public Health, e-RX and Structured Lab data. The team supports a product experiencing tremendous growth and engages in ongoing endeavors to scale and optimize operations.

The primary responsibilities of the Clinicals EDI Manager are to lead the Clinicals EDI Operations team and to oversee the ongoing growth and optimization of athena’s electronic backbone over which Clinical results travel. The Manager maintains and optimizes procedures to support the initial build and ongoing maintenance of Clinical interfaces. The Clinicals EDI Manager is responsible for prioritizing network expansion opportunities based on value, identifying enhancements in transaction workflows, maintaining strong working relationships with vendors and handling stakeholder escalations. Additionally, the Clinicals EDI Manager fosters relationships with Development and other internal teams to create and constantly optimize processes.

The Manager must continually enhance quality and effectiveness of the operation in terms of delivering client value and overall business results. Specific Job Responsibilities include: • Manage the team of interface project managers; provides regular feedback to staff, other teams, vendors regarding performance against defined metrics and goals• Monitor EDI metrics and ensures rates are trending in accordance with monthly goals and analyzing variances to identify improvements in quality and efficiency· Support infrastructure improvements and reporting tools to support ongoing development, growth and management of Clinical EDI transactions such as lab results, imaging results and clinical documents • Partner with internal departments (e.g., sales, product implementation, account management, Client Support) to educate, understand needs, respond to questions and provide critical communication, transaction support and status updates regarding active interface projects and new interface types• Partner with other Operations and Development Teams to identify scaling opportunities, prioritize a large assortment of Development tasks, reduce faxed document volume, facilitate the overall growth of the EDI network and ensure that changes initiated in EDI do not negatively impact other groups• Develop and implement quality measurement programs for Production Support queues • Initiate and influence process improvements and system enhancements with vendors• Create documentation and training to onboard new athenistas, educate clients and internal stakeholders on standard operating procedures and quality expectations as neededKey competencies of the successful candidate will include: • Collaborative Execution – has built and sustained excellent cross- functional relationships at multiple levels across large organizations, proven record building trust with clients and vendors• Communication – highly articulate; makes arguments in a compelling manner • Driving Results – has translated the overall objectives of the organization into actionable, quantitative plans • Culturally astute - is savvy and pragmatic on how to affect change Position Requirements: Qualified candidates will possess the skills necessary to continually assess business processes and implement qualifying performance and unit cost improvements. In addition, this individual must thrive in a fast-paced, often intense and rapidly expanding company. These abilities include: Required• Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred; • Minimum of seven (7) year professional experience, Minimum of three (3) years people management experience; • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities; • Demonstrated success influencing and driving change in a dynamic environment;• Strong analytic skills and an understanding of application in solving business problems;• Ability to keep track of numerous detail-intensive, interdependent tasks and ensure their accurate completion; • Flexibility and the ability to handle rapidly changing priorities as needed• Excellent communication skills, including listening, writing, and relationship development at all levels of an organization; experience interacting with client escalations• Enthusiasm, idealism, creativity, dedication and an open mindPreferred• Informatics or HL7 background, prior experience with EDI in a healthcare environment;• SQL experience;• Advanced Excel knowledge; • Aptitude for reengineering processes, tools and role(s) to improve scalability, efficiency and quality
