The mission of the Code Enforcement Office is to protect the health, safety, welfare and property values of Meadows Place residents through the reasonable and consistent enforcement of codes and ordinances. The Code Enforcement Officer works proactively to ensure proper observance of city ordinances, state laws, and applicable codes as they pertain to illegal signage, high grass/weeds, junk/debris/trash and other nuisances, inoperable vehicles, and illegal dumping. Additionally, the Officer oversees the City's tree ordinance, the permitting of signs, the registration of food establishments and projects as assigned.Education, training, experience: Preferred knowledge, abilities and skills: Knowledge of the principles and practices in code enforcement and/or building construction; ability to interpret code requirements; must be able to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment. Must be physically able to perform duties which includes lifting/moving up to 25 lbs.

and must be able to work with minimal supervision. Requirements: Code Enforcement Certification and/or certified as an International Building Code Inspector, minimum 2 years’ experience in Code Enforcement and/or Certified Building Inspector; valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record; high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in Law Enforcement will be considered.Must “fit” City of Meadows Place small town feel, be hardworking, with excellent communication skills and friendly. Must be comfortable with mediation and conflict resolution.

Background with City Planner / Zoning background a plus. Must be a person of high moral character, someone firm, but fair and be able to compromise in order to get the best outcome for the City and our residents.
