Equal to completion of one or two years of college or the equivalent knowledge and experience required.

Coding certificate through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) accredited program is required.

A minimum of one year related work experience with CPT-4, ICD-9 is preferred.

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Apprentice (CCA) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is preferred.

Overall knowledge of the Ambulatory Patient Classification including other related fields is preferred.

Experience with inpatient coding. This position is at the South Coast Business Center, Fairhaven, MA.
