he American Urological Association is the premier association for the advancement of urologic patient care. We are actively recruiting an experienced Medical Coding Specialist.
Responsibilities include: staffing the AUA Coding Hotline and provides prompt and accurate answers to urology coding questions. Assists in activities educating AUA leaders, members, and practice managers on issues related to coding, reimbursement and payer policies. Performs research and gives responses to urologic and quality coding, reimbursement and policy inquiries received from members, their staff, or others.
The successful candidate will possess a National coding certification. Candidate must have a high school diploma, Associates degree preferred and three to five years medical coding office experience, preferably in urology. Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel. Must be diligent in giving advice only in line with current government regulations and laws. Must be able to travel to Coding seminars (up to 3 days duration) and the Annual Meeting (up to 8 days duration) each year. Must have willingness to take ownership for own work and must be flexible and customer focused. Must have ability to work independently or as a member of the Health Policy Team. Must be available to work Monday through Friday and be available for occasional weekend and/or extended hours as required.
