Partner with team members and internal customers to develop enterprise reporting solutions. The position will be tasked with creating and maintaining enterprise level reporting solutions and supporting the Business Intelligence applications (Cognos) which delivers them. Assist in developing best practices for reporting and works in support of the Data Modelers and Architects on business intelligence solutions to follow and implement these standards. Play a supporting role with modelers and business leads to determine the best solution to meet their information needs. Work with Information Competency Center resources to develop reporting needs based on customer requirements as related to the organizational strategy, in the most effective manner possible. Be a resource to the business in knowledge transfer and customer support assistance for understanding and use of data, systems and reports. Maintain and support a culture of compliance, security and data integrity. Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, business, or related area required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience using Business Intelligence tools to develop reporting solutions, interactive dashboards, and scorecards required.
Minimum of three (3) years experience with Cognos 8 and Cognos 10 environments, working with Cognos framework, report studio, query studio, and analyst studio required.
Extensive experience in the use of analytic applications, databases, data access and programming tools.
Advanced report development skill is a must. .
Experience with OLAP, dimensional modeling, data warehouse development, implementation, and maintenance is plus.
Strong ability to write SQL queries using standard query tools.
Experience with Cognos 10 is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with BI team, analysts, and business staff throughout the organization.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements and translate into technical solutions that meet business objectives.
Ability to train and mentor end users and transfer knowledge with a customer-centric approach.
Work collaboratively in a team environment with the ability to interact effectively with other groups in the organization.
Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making, and the appropriate sense of urgency.
