Description: The Collections Manager will be responsible for conducting all collection efforts on residential, home equity and consumer loans that are delinquent or subject to technical default. Some of these duties include: reviews loan delinquency history and takes appropriate collection action; pursues communication with defaulted customers to offer potential workout alternatives; negotiates payments and settlements on customer accounts. Performs all collection and loss mitigation activities on secondary market investor portfolios; analyzes customer's situation and collateral risk to present alternative solutions such as forbearance plans, repayment plans, financial wellness modifications, pre-foreclosure/short sales, deed in lieu. Responsible for the administration of collateral repossession, small claims proceedings and bankruptcy proceedings. Will facilitate the management and dispositions of the Bank's OREO properties; assists in preparation of a variety of reports on a scheduled and as-needed basis. Is responsible for creating and maintaining all collection policies and procedures.

Minimum Skills: Associates degree or its equivalent plus specialized course work and training. Five years collections or relevant experience. Excellent working knowledge of consumer collection laws and regulations. Significant experience with respect to collections on real estate secured loans in Massachusetts and should be familiar with applicable state and federal laws, including recent Massachusetts foreclosure statutes commonly referred to as 35A/35B. Experience working with first and third-party agencies, repossessions, foreclosures, OREO and mortgage investor delinquency reporting. Experience with the IBS CarmPro collection software preferred. Must possess excellent communication, organizational, customer service, interpersonal and computer skills. Must possess ability to use a PC with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
