Job Summary

Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of invoices to responsible payer, of any type, for all services and products provided. Responsible for follow-up with responsible parties to ensure the receipt of timely, accurate payments, as well as to assist with Billing and Collection Training.

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluation of payments received and properly applies to correct patient account
  • Determines quantities and prices for drugs billed
  • Verifies services and products are correctly authorized and required documentation is on file
  • Verifies payments received are correct according to fee schedule
  • Notifies management when overpayments and/or duplicate payments for services are received
  • Responsible for communication to the patient or responsible party when insurance carrier fails to make payments within agreed upon timeframe
  • HIPPA compliant

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience in infusion collections or medical billing.
  • Experience working independently.
  • Experience in computer application software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior medical billing experience.
  • Medical billing technical training.
