Job Description
Commercial Banking Executive Communications Manager

The Executive Communications Manager will be responsible for managing internal communications for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.'s Commercial Banking (CB) CEO and other senior management team members. In addition, this person will work closely with the CB internal communications team on other activities. The position is based in New York. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Managing communications planning and execution for CB CEO and select management team members.
  • Creating executive messages for internal and external audiences in the proper voice and tone, reflecting the CEO’s personal style and communication needs, including messages, talking points and speeches.

  • Developing communications plans that strategically leverage multiple channels, including the CB intranet site, emails, videos, paper materials, face-to-face and audio.
  • Ensuring message content and frequency are optimal and reflect CB’s diverse set of
  • Working with the internal communications team on:
    • Promoting strong, consistent messaging and positioning of J.P. Morgan and Chase brands and developing and delivering proactive content emphasizing the strategy of the firm and individual businesses.
    • Managing regulatory and controls messaging strategies and processes to ensure employees understand all policies and procedures to ensure the business follows them to the spirit and letter of the law.
    • Developing strategies to promote employee recognition and build a sense of community across our geographic footprint.
    • Developing communications strategies for internal business initiatives and overseeing the execution of plans.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with peers across the firm, and liaising with these contacts on projects that span across businesses and functions.

Qualifications

Qualifications and background:

7-10 years internal corporate communications experience, including extensive hands-on writing, editing, project management, and presentation building
· Demonstrated success developing executive-level messages, providing communications counsel to senior management teams, and executing strong communications plans
· Organized project manager and multi-tasker, comfortable in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
· Proven ability to track complex and overlapping milestones and manage multiple priorities and urgent deadlines.
· Consultative approach with the ability to interact, influence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
· Must be able to demonstrate speed, flexibility and adaptability, especially with writing and editing on the fly. Must be able to get up to speed quickly on the business and its priorities.
· Ability to challenge the status quo and look for ways to continually improve
· Experience with Sharepoint and Vignette intranet platforms, and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or Communications.
  • Experience in banking or financial services strongly preferred.
