Provide the commercial management team with information that will support decision making within a dynamic commercial environment. They will do this by understanding where and how to extract and analyze data, develop trend information, and ultimately make recommendations for volume and product mix improvement. Works closely with the sales and marketing group to ensure timely information on commercial results, trends, and related issues and monitoring Charter Wire's pricing process.

Major accountabilities include:
Manage all commercial reporting

Develop reports to improve trend analysis in the commercial area

Analyze commercial data as it relates to customer, product, and margin trends to provide decision support to the commercial team

Provide financial reporting and analysis to support optimal customer and product mix

Manage Divisional sales forecasts and provide informational support to the S&OP process

Manage the steel surcharge mechanism including the calculation, distribution and implementation for invoicing

Assist Sales and Marketing Manager with department budget

Involved in pricing review and management including the analysis and identification of pricing issues and opportunities

Assist in the management of inventory through the analysis of consumption and determination of appropriate stocking levels as well as the development of processes to support minimizing aged inventory.

Manage the process to generate margin analyses upon request

Manage all freight equalization related policies and issues

Manage accessibility and security within the company’s web based services for our customers

Support the collection and analysis of the monthly field sales forecast data

Provide support to the Accounting group related to cost analysis and projects

Support the development of new markets and products

Manage ad hoc projects within the commercial team or other areas as deemed appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in business management (accounting, finance, marketing, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience with a progressive track record of results

3 - 5 years experience working with commercial management team or related discipline in a manufacturing environment

Ability to demonstrate analytical, problem solving, and qualitative analysis skills

Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint

Experience in working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to juggle multiple requests and prioritize accordingly

Desire to take initiative and work with little supervision
