The Commercial Developer 4 will manage and lead fast-paced, cross functional / cross P&L teams in the development and execution of winning deal strategies, proposals, and contracts. The Commercial Developer 4 will work to drive profitability and winning share by balancing customer and market requirements with engineering and supply chain resources.In this role you will evaluate the competitive environment, stakeholder base, and make sure price for value is delivered.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition you will:
  • Work with Account Sales leaders to identify customer CTQ’s and translate the requirements to commercial offerings
  • Work with Product Management to determine the right product offering for a specific customer application and assist with the development of customer-specific value sell stories
  • Take ownership of the continuous adherence to internal Policy 5.0, Tollgate, and Deal Review processes and approvals
  • Work closely with the Proposals Engineering team to ensure that proposal estimating is complete and product offering responses meet customer needs
  • Integrate with all account P&L’s to develop and delivery comprehensive customer proposals to expand GE’s footprint and grow business revenues
  • Lead the development and negotiation of contracts, work with key customer contacts to develop specific product specifications and assure closure on all contract deliverables
  • Be responsible for GE initiatives and be an active participant in ‘leaning’ the deal, negotiation, and contract process

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of Commercial experience (Developing / Writing highly complex winning proposals by formulating business strategies that fit within business product offerings and winning strategies)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Financial and Profitability Analysis
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with direct customer interactions, presentations, and relationship building

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Desired Characteristics
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience negotiating with internal and external customers, writing and managing contracts, and experience in the Railroad industry
  • Dedicated commercial career minded and focused individual
  • Experience interacting to executive level management / leadership
  • Technical knowledge of locomotives, service, and / or signaling products
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and cross-functional teamwork skills
  • International business experience
  • Experience understanding customer CTQs and translating into winning strategies for the customer and for GE
