Duties / Responsibilities

The Commercial Operations Representative will be accountable for the following functions:
  • Manage the daily on-system shipper balancing processes for a large natural gas gathering system and several smaller systems
  • Manage downstream pipeline operational balancing agreements
  • Coordinate both gathering system and pipeline shutdowns with shippers
  • Monitor and maintain existing gathering agreements
  • Assist in the evaluation of new business opportunities and gathering agreements
  • Coordinate the accurate flow of and compliance with contract requirements with field operations personnel
  • Reconcile discrepancies between Southwestern and third-party reported volumes
  • Communicate and interface with operations, measurement and accounting personnel
  • Evaluate and revise current imbalance tracking procedures and contract documentation

Qualifications
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, economics or other relevant studies which develop strong analytical and relationship skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in gas gathering systems, gas revenue accounting, and/or production volume accounting
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions and meet daily time deadlines

Experience

Minimum of 4 years experience in the oil and gas industry with experience in one of the areas below preferred, but not required:
  • Pipeline nominations and balancing
  • Gas Contract Administration
  • Gas Accounting
  • Gas Transportation
