Description: The primary goal for the Sales Agent for Small Business Services will be to seek out and sign up small commercial businesses within the New York Con Ed territory. The position reports to the Team Lead for Small Business Services while encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset. This position allows for schedule flexibility, personal growth and professional eminence. A successful Small Business Services representative will be comfortable with B2B sales, energy consultation and embrace an ever changing industry.
•Achieve targeted sales goals
•Canvas assigned territories thoroughly, prospecting all small businesses with territory
•Work with management to create and improve ideas for generating new sales
•Provide a consultative analysis on customers' Con Ed bill
•Fill out and submit all necessary paperwork for contract execution in a timely manner
•Close and sign up prospects who show interest in Green Mountain Energy electricity
•Assist other team members with selling/closing techniques
•Represent Green Mountain Energy Company with integrity and professionalism
Required Skills and Experience:
•Must have sincere desire to help change the way power is made
•2 years sales or business development experience preferred, electricity sales is a plus
•Excellent verbal communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to overcome objections and close with customers
•Understand sales techniques and customer needs
•Knowledge of energy/deregulation a plus
