Provides commercial support and coordination of gas supply activities for a specific set of gathering and processing assets within a region. Supports the commercial organization in assisting with development of commercially viable projects. Interacts with operations, marketing, engineering, contract, and accounting functions in doing so. Represents DCP and makes frequent contacts with 3rd parties (typically producer customers) on commercial projects.


Secures natural gas supply through commercially viable and advantageous agreements such as transportation, processing, compression, treating, dehydration, production handling agreements and other types of agreements.

Evaluates and develops recommendations regarding asset acquisition opportunities that will provide a synergistic benefit to the overall asset portfolio.

Accumulates data including competitor information for evaluating Business Development proposals.
Identifies and creates opportunities for value creation on 3rd party facilities including storage and interstate/intrastate pipelines and communicating such to traders.

Develop strategies to improve throughput, optimize infrastructure alternatives, capture arbitrage opportunities, and manage transportation, storage and/or park-and-loan agreements.

Support business development activities for new markets and projects.

Drafts, develops, and negotiates new contracts and maintains existing commercial contracts.

Coordinates with various internal groups including Reserves, Engineering, Planning, and Legal to develop and manage all aspects of new complex projects from inception to implementation.

Communicates daily with gathering and plant operations organizations regarding changes to operating parameters necessitated by changing contracts and market conditions.

Participates and supports company efforts in managing interests in partnership activities. In small partnerships, may direct the efforts through minimal supervision.

Evaluates and pursues pipeline interconnects or pipeline/gas plant acquisition opportunities.

Works closely with Division Accounting to review financial performance of supply contracts and asset commercial performance.

Provides analytical input to the construction of the annual revenue budget for assigned assets.

Identifies, evaluates, and develops viable commercial projects.
