Responsibilities: Represents the company in business dealings with internal and external organizations in the various roles of supply chain management Effectively develops and promotes AA/AMR's strategic partnerships with suppliers Accountable for managing the cost of commodities and acting in a leadership/facilitator roles as the manager of commodity and supplier strategies Procures commodities to meet the expectations of customers consistent with newly developed, quality oriented strategic plan Performs all requires functions from establishing internal customer requirements to the completion of acceptable purchase contracts which bring measurable value to the corporation

        Team leader with strong customer orientation Assertiveness to negotiate and mediate complex pricing and financial implications of contracts Advanced business understanding particularly in project management, commodity markets, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, quality improvement and deriving strategic business plans for commodities Skilled in organization and interpersonal dealings facilitating productive business relationships Excellent oral and written communication skills to give and gain support for actions and direction High ethical standards Moderate to extensive travel required Work experience demonstrating knowledge and application of these requirements: 2-5years ideal or up to 10years Bachelor's required; MBA desired Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, American Airlines and our affiliated carriers employ more than 85,000 people, fly more than 3,300 daily flights and operate a fleet of nearly 900 aircraft.
