to assume a key supply chain leadership position that involves collaborating across multiple departments and divisions in order to improve the supplier management practices of the organization.
The role is responsible for identifying and implementing strategic procurement goals and objectives across in the business unit as well as the performance of specific commodities and suppliers associated with those commodities.
The selected candidate will make decisions to support capacity, program support and/or cost goals. Requires an ability to build positive relationships with key suppliers while leveraging these relationships to improve supplier quality, costs, service, and preserve Department of Defense (DOD) certification.

Develops and implements commodity strategies: lead the procurement team to develop commodity strategies; develops commodity specific suppliers based on performance (Quality, Service, Technology, and Price); and follows corporate strategic procurement strategies
Leads the team in negotiations for lowest total cost of ownership for commodities under purview. Responsible for supplier relationship, negotiating pricing and terms and conditions with commodity supplier
Works collaboratively with commodity managers throughout Cobham to ensure joint effort and maximize efficiencies and cost controls
Perform supplier workshops as required to share scorecard performance and discuss areas for improvement with technical teams. Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities with suppliers
Optimize commodity spending and provide minimum target annual savings through cost reductions, cost avoidance and operational improvements
Implement and manage long term price agreements on key and critical components
Negotiates and executes critical, complex, high-value awards either in conjunction with a buyer or independently; determine the commodity responsibility
Ensures buyers compliance with Small Business Administration and Department of Defense regulations in procurement activities, including outreach efforts to small and disadvantaged suppliers
Commodities may include Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, Machining, Electro Mechanical Assemblies, Cable & waveguide or other manufacturing related components as assigned
Coordinate supply chain activities with manufacturing & engineering departments to acquire material in a cost effective and timely manner for target commodity
Recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing based on industry benchmarking, trends, and direction
Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and business trends and incorporate into the strategic sourcing plan, where appropriate; evaluate price trends, market trends, and manufacturing process that impact overall commodity performance
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents; estimate resource and budget requirements to achieve project goals; establish and proactively manage project expectations with team members and stake holders
5+ years experience in supply chain
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Project
5+ years experience with BOM structures
Written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels in an organization
2+ years experience utilizing DFAR, ITAR, Counterfeit materials
2+ years experience utilizing Total Cost Analysis, Project Management Methodologies, Kaizan, and Lean Manufacturing practices
Ability to obtain Security Clearance
Selected applicant may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Electronic components or Aerospace & Defense industry experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Purchasing, Materials, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM); or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM); or The Institute for Supply Management (ISM)
SAP or Oracle experience
Experience utilizing AS9102, RCPS, conflict minerals & NADCAP requirements
Active Secret Clearance
