Qualifications and Skills Required:
Articulate and experienced communications professional (3 years minimum experience or equivalent) required to undertake a broad array of activities with a strong emphasis on organizational management, external relations, and communicating with the news media and broader public. Strong written and oral communication skills, social media experience as well as client-interface experience, are a must.
Knowledge of and experience working directly with the news media is a prerequisite. Candidate must be able to demonstrate successful execution of media campaigns. Knowledge of public education reform and charter schools is preferred. Political experience is a plus.
Candidate must be a team player with the ability to meet deadlines and have a good eye for detail, possess excellent negotiating skills and have advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and programs associated with communications. An understanding of the proactive nature of public relations and the ability to multi-task will be integral to success in this role.
