The McHenry County Sheriff's Department has a full time Communications Supervisor position open. This position performs a variety of specialized technical duties associated with the Telecommunication functions of the Communication Division.
The Communications Supervisor is the first line supervisory level of the Communications Division which oversees the Telecommunicators.
Salary: $63,949.60 Hours: First Shift
Job Functions :
Coordinates the work scheduling and payroll for Telecommunicators
Is responsible for the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) IN THE Department.
Assist in coordinating the maintenance of telecommunication equipment.
Coordinates and evaluates the on-going colleciton of pertinent data.
Handles FOIA and subpoena requests for phone and radio traffic.
Oversees training for new telecommunicators.
Makes recommendations for change or improvement in procedures, methods and processes.
Meets and corresponds with other divisions and agencies.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Technical knowledge of the functions and operations of the telecommunications equipment, radio base stations and consoles used by the department.
Knowledge of street and road systems, geographical patterns and numerical system of McHenry County.
Ability to work under pressure and remain calm under emergency circumstances, act with tact and impartiality.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
High School Diploma or GED
4 years dispatch experience in a public safety dispatch center or
4 years of supervisory experience
Able to type 50 WPM.
Must maintain certification for CPR/First Aid
Must have LEADS Full Access Certification and Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification
Must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License.
