Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills; organizational and project management skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; a strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor. A solid command of the Associated Press style guide and journalistic writing principles is preferred.
A four-year degree or the equivalent is required, preferably in journalism or communications. Law firm or professional services experience is a plus.

Essential Job Functions

This opening is an administrative position supporting the Communications Group of the Business Development Department, and will report to the Communications Coordinator and Communications Specialist. The candidate must work effectively as part of a growing Firmwide Communications team.

The candidate will assist with tasks related to various internal and external communications initiatives, including internal memos and newsletters; website and Intranet content postings; survey and directory responses; requests for proposals; and other communication projects.
The candidate will be responsible for having a solid command of a number of different technology applications to produce a high-end and professional work product, including the Microsoft Office Suite and Quark Xpress. Experience with HTML, Adobe PhotoShop and website content management systems is preferred. The candidate may be called upon to assist with various other marketing initiatives.

The candidate will provide administrative support for a number of communications initiatives. Tasks include, but are not limited to: drafting, editing and proofreading content, entering content into web-based applications, organizational projects, tracking and reporting of activities, graphic design projects, and other projects as assigned.
