Work as a Communications Business Partner to design and deliver internal communications and social media strategies based on business needs.
Develops and implements internal communication messages, programs and strategies to support business objectives and initiatives across business units and functions. Develop communication solutions that will engage employees in the company's success
- Partners with HR to develop communications programs that support recruiting as well as employer branding initiatives.
Develops and implements internal communications and external social media strategies with the goal of establishing and maintaining a favorable corporate reputation with our audiences, including employees, GE businesses, thought leaders, consumers, industry analysts and media.
- Establishes and manages relationships with the media and social media contributors (ie: bloggers).
- Contributes content to social media channels
- Writes messaging documents including talking points, Q&A, statements, letters and insideGE communications.
Designs and implements communications process improvements to develop and execute communications and social strategies more effectively.
Work together with corporate communications, Research and HR teams to assess the effectiveness of employee communications, social media strategies and processes by determining optimal distribution, frequency and channels of essential communications across a variety of internal audiences
Anticipates and manages issues and threats that challenge GE Software. Proactively prepares for potential issues, and responds quickly to unforeseen issues, gathering information/details to defend company positions in coordination with the key departments and legal staff.
A minimum of Bachelor Degree in Communication, English and Journalism.
A minimum of 10 years experience in communications.
Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA.
Must be willing to travel.

Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
Experience in creating or writing corporate information, including fact sheets, public reports, speeches, PowerPoint presentations and web content.
Software communications experience in either a top corporate, PR agency a must; Journalism experience a plus.
Must have a deep understanding of public relations strategies and be familiar with software trends.
Comfortable translating complex concepts into clear, succinct copy.
Flexibility to manage competing priorities and shift focus as determined by the changing needs of the department and/or business.
A track record of identifying communication-improvement opportunities and taking action to positively impact key metrics.
