What We’re Looking For :
2U has an exciting opportunity for a PR Manager to design and execute extensive public relations and corporate outreach campaigns on behalf of 2U and our university partners. Taking a lead in the development and delivery of an effective media relations management strategy, you’ll ensure that every contact with the media is an opportunity to promote our values, priorities and objectives – every day, building greater awareness around our programs. You will be tasked with the following:

Develop and maintain relationships with key members of the business, technology and education media

Proactively pitch stories and concepts to the media, monitoring, responding to, and managing media interest in 2U and our University partner programs

Report results in a timely, on-going basis

Think quickly in crisis management situations and problem solve communications-related issues

Work with members of the Communications and Social Media team to update and manage the company’s social media presence

Work closely with other members of our marketing team to support our overall communications strategy

Build out internal processes as they relate to managing media contacts, media training, and inter-department communication.

Manage the annual PR budget and recruit and manage outside vendors and agencies when appropriate

Monitor and report on competitors’ media activity

Monitor and report on media coverage of online higher education

Plan and execute special events

Things That Should Be in Your Background :
Bachelors degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or related field

5-7 years related professional experience; agency background preferred

Experience pitching print and electronic news media; demonstrated success of securing placement in mainstream outlets

Familiarity with online news outlets, social networks and PR tools (Cision,

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects, solve problems and manage multiple relationships

Proactive, personable, and team-oriented
