Conduct market or public opinion research to assess program outcomes Suggests promotional campaign ideas in various types of media, as well as counsels top management on effective communication strategies Develops communications strategies and executes communications plans and maintains key relationships with media; answering inquiries, and monitoring regional and national news trends Directs the creation of communications materials for fundraising campaigns Participates in on-call response service, particularly in emergencies or special circumstances Attends special events, some of which may occur in the evenings or on weekends Develops, writes, edits, and distributes communication to both internal and external constituencies Interacts with organizational personnel to develop communication ideas Actively solicits positive national coverage for the organization Directs the development of communication methods (i.e. RFPs, advertising, reports, and utilizing social media); Directs online communication outreach effort, development of web page standards and procedures, and writing for internal and external publications
Five years of progressive responsibility experience in the communications field, staff and budget supervision.
Required: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or closely-related field.
Preferred: Masters degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or closely-related field.
