The Manager of Communications will be responsible for leading external and internal public relations strategies and marketing communications that create and drive The Home Depot Center’s awareness, public image, and business initiatives.

• Responsible for all marketing and public relations for the facility
• Oversees database management, viral marketing, social networking, asset management, and documentation and website content management
• Writes and edits all internal and external communications from The Home Depot Center, including press releases, official statements, newsletters, memos, etc
• Handles all media inquiries, manage journalist relationships and generally build goodwill
• Serves as facility’s primary spokesperson and develops key messaging and media training for General Manager and Vice President, Events and Operations
• Liaise with AEG corporate communications and the AEG Facilities venue group on a regular basis
• Oversees all press conferences and media operations at various events
• Serve as PR liaison with all professional partners and Home Depot Center tenants, coordinating media strategy, overseeing its implementation and making strategic media calls
• Manages relationship with third party consultant on web communications and viral marketing, including e-newsletters
• Oversee marketing and promotion for any Home Depot Center-promoted or co-promoted events
• Consistently interfaces with local community leaders and representatives from the United States Olympic Committee and national governing bodies, including the United States Soccer Federation, United States Tennis Association and USA Cycling
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
• Work with all departments within the organization and assist as available with any special projects
• Other special projects as assigned
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of and experience with social networking sites including but not limited to: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc
• Must be highly organized, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong knowledge/experience of public relations/marketing in the entertainment industry with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment required
• Enterprising and self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work well with different personalities in a fast-paced environment and constant deadlines
• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information
• Exceptional interpersonal and telephone skills, esp. when handling high volume of inbound telephone calls
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and/or holidays & overtime as required
• Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Education: Four-year undergraduate college degree in marketing, communications, business or related field required
Experience: 5+ years of experience in public relations/marketing/communications
