The Communications Manager is responsible for developing custom educational materials/campaigns and managing the production workflow of Workplace Investing (WI) communication materials for large size implementations, corporation actions and Strategic clients. This manager will develop insight and understanding of the client’s communication strategy as well as provide communications and production consultative support and recommendations to the Communications Consultant, Client Service Team and/or client. Due to the integrated, multi-practice and complex nature of these Plans, the Communications Manager will research and analyze plan-specific materials to create unique educational materials to satisfy the client’s specific communications needs. The Communications Manager will be responsible for oversight of daily print production, inventory management, and issue resolution. They will remain current with the latest technology and are influential in supporting client communication budgets in collaboration with the Communications Consultant and manage either a fully integrated client portfolio and/or 1-2 mega clients. The manager will also have ownership of procedural development and maintenance of policies and controls as applicable across the Strategic market segment. The Communications Manager will coordinate with various business partners and collaborate with management to identify & implement process improvement opportunities.
Review and analyze plan-specific materials to determine creative solutions in meeting client’s unique communications needs. Routinely develop custom integrated marketing campaigns (i.e. DB) to address client-specific goals. Work as a member of a team of experts to effectively deliver complex communication projects.
Support day to day production management of client communications including project planning, scheduling, execution, issue resolution, and reporting and reconciliation. Consult and provide production recommendations based on project specifications, design features, cost considerations and equipment capabilities. Solicit quotes, estimates and select appropriate vendor for job based on project specifications and timelines. Facilitate and provide inventory management oversight for assigned client portfolio.
Independently manage creation of standard or custom educational materials to support several client projects. Manage the technical, peer review, proofreading, legal, design and client edit/review cycles, including all necessary follow-ups. Identify risks proactively and develop alternatives to ensure timely resolution
Education and Experience
Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing or related field strongly desired
Print production experience strongly desired
Five to seven years of project management experience preferred
Minimum of three years Defined Contribution and writing experience preferred
Have completed 6 and 63 a plus; if you do not have the licenses you will be required to obtain them within 90 days of hire
Fidelity experience preferred
