This role will be responsible for creating and leading employee communications which drive a simplified understanding and appreciation of the vision, strategy and organizational initiatives within the Thermal P&L. The employee communications manager will develop an internal communication strategy and execute it using appropriate communication platforms
In addition, you will:
Strong digital knowledge, strong writing and editing skills, the ability to write for online audiences, and strong project management skills
Develop the internal communications strategy, which includes development of rhythm and content to employees across the business via employee news channels, CEO notes, executive messaging, events, webcasts etc.
Leverage new technology to develop new channels, tools and vehicles to keep GE employees informed and engaged, while increasing two-way communication
Drive employee engagement for a variety of global GE initiatives
Create / maintain online portals, employee contests and strategic messaging
Develop write and edit stories for company intranet and news channels
Drive and measure readership. Review and respond to employee comments
Manage posting of content and imagery
Develop and maintain strong relationships with business communicators, providing support to ensure Company-wide programs reach the regional and field employees
Support Diversity and affinity network communications leaders on employee messaging, PR and event sponsorship
Support special projects, events and handle occasional media requests related to employees
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with related experience in a marketing or sales role)
Minimum 5 years communications experience

Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, execute, and measure employee engagement strategies with a highly dispersed and mobile employee population
Experience working within a highly matrixed, global environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high quality of work
Strong project management / process bias
Excellent business acumen
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization from senior level executives to all other employment segments
