Duties And Responsibilities
& Minimum Requirements:
This position develops communication strategy, creates materials for multiple channels, and coordinates all University Information Services communication efforts. Audiences include faculty, staff, students, alumni, internal business units, executive stakeholders, and external media. Core responsibilities include developing a communications strategy and general awareness campaign, preparing executive level presentations and briefs, and developing content for the UIS website, social media channels, broadcast communications and other venues. This position will be key to developing the communications and marketing strategy for the UIS and GU IT transformation initiatives. This position will assist the GU CIO and DCIO in mapping out communication initiatives, objectives, and activities that support the implementation of the 5 year IT strategic plan.
Bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree highly desirable
At least 5 years of demonstrated senior level communication experience required
At least 5 years experience preferably supporting a large complex organization with a diverse constituent or customerbase and complex messaging requirements.
Demonstrated experience developing executive level presentation and briefs including developing graphic and visual representation of business information.
Must have strong writing and editing skills and the ability to mentor student staff
Web producing skills including demonstrated knowledge of how to write for web and social media platforms
Understanding of file formats for rich media (images, video)
Basic editing skills to develop rich media content.

Analytical skills required
