COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, Student Financial Services (SFS), to serve as SFS's lead communications visionary and strategist. Will develop and implement a communications strategy--to the campus community, news media, and general public--that promotes MIT's priorities of access and affordability; present a compelling and consistent image of SFS's mission, vision, strategies, goals, and accomplishments; ensure frequent, open, and effective communication that engages diverse constituencies; and foster internal communication to promote further integration of SFS programs and services. Will manage a wide range of electronic and print communications including brochures, websites, newsletters, marketing material, and reports; develop the concept, oversee the design, create the content, and drive production; and ensure the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of all communications. Will report to the SFS's executive director.

REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree in communications or related field; at least five years' experience in communications, including demonstrated success planning and implementing communications strategies; solid writing, editing, listening, interviewing, and research skills; demonstrated expertise using a broad range of writing styles, e.g., feature stories, online content, research project abstracts, social media, and broadcast messages to synthesize and translate complex information into common language; familiarity and experience with a range of communications platforms, including websites, social media, and printed materials; advanced knowledge of communication and web technology; proficiency with software needed to create and maintain HTML websites, e.g., Dreamweaver; experience with content management systems such as Drupal; excellent interpersonal skills; and able to work independently and as part of a team.
