Management of communications contractor team. Assist FirstNet Deputy General Manager and staff with all communications activities.

Position Education/Experience Requirements:
A minimum of five years of experience in strategic communications with a minimum of one year of experience in wireless or related industries.
a. Expert knowledge of the Communications and experience leading communications teams or firms.
b. Experience and skills in developing and managing communications teams related to outreach efforts.
c.Understanding of public safety interests and strategies.
d. Experience in leading strategic communications planning and support
e.Knowledge of existing public safety communications
f. Advanced skills in presentations, graphics, marketing, and communications
g. Experience working with other communications personnel and leading others
h. Experience with social media
i. Outstanding written (prose and presentation) and oral communications skills, especially the ability to articulate complex strategic situations and strategies and to effectively communicate to audiences with and without business and wireless industry experience and to all levels of an organization.
j. Ability to create an understandable and compelling narrative so that decision makers can readily understand strategies and strategic options.
k. Ability to provide expert advice on communications and facilitate senior leadership's discussion of strategies and strategic decisions.
l. Ability to lead communications strategy, including cross-functional and cross organizational teams.
m. Able to work effectively with people from outside the organization to obtain information and cooperation.
n. Integrity and sensitivity to work in high stakes, high pressure negotiation and decision-making environments.
o. An in-depth understanding of the context of building coalitions, complex projects, and organizations within the context of the Federal government.

Desirable Education/Experience:
a. Past experience working for a mobile carrier
b. Experience working as a communications consultant or in a consultative startup environment
c. Experience in growing national or niche wireless business, or related field with expert knowledge of the wireless industry.
d. A relevant four-year degree in business, communications, public policy, or closely related field.
e. Experience working on Government Programs
f. Experience working in the field of First Responder Communication Systems
