Position Details

EMPCOM: Responsible for building and maintaining a positive image with employees as well as the communities we serve. Develops and implements programs that positively impact the community and reflect well on the company.

Employee Communications Focus:
1-Builds relationships and acts as a liaison between key boundary partners to maintain employee engagement and awareness of important Cox issues.
2-Executes internal plans and opportunities which benefit Marketing, Sales, Cox Media and/or Cox Business, cultivates relationships, and coordinates internal resources to increase revenue and employees¿ competitive readiness.
3-Creates/maintains various communications tools, including printed publications, intranet communications (myAXis), SharePoint, Power Point, PhotoShop, employee meetings and events, videos, and announcements that fosters open communication throughout the organization.
3-Writes, edits, and develops a variety of print and electronic communications to promote and support Cox's business needs to include managing Cox¿s all employee newsletter and collaborating on Cox¿s to-the-home newsletter.
4- Provides supervisors and other managers with appropriate messages, tools and training to help them be effective communicators.
5-Investigate new virtual communication tools and implement improvement strategies for internal employee communications.

Public Affairs focus:
1- Manages social media channels for all Cox Louisiana markets.
2-Oversees employee volunteer and donation programs (Cox Ambassadors) for New Orleans market.
3-Represents Cox in the community at various events as assigned.
4-Helps coordinate employee events and activities which celebrate diversity in the communities.
5-Supports employee involvement in company-sponsored internal and external outreach events and community volunteering by collaborating with Public Affairs team.
6-Supports Public Affairs by coordinating employee incentives, contests, ticket distributions and other external engagement activities for New Orleans.

Typical Training / Experience ¿ Undergraduate degree in related discipline required. Certification may be required in some areas; 2 - 4 years of experience in related field.

Dept/Org Scope & Impact ¿ Mid-level professional contributor on a project or specialty work team; Work is similar to that performed by senior-level employees in support/paraprofessional roles without degrees/certification to gain practical exposure to application of theories/principles of specialized area; Work is of limited scope, typically on smaller, less complex projects/ assignments or providing support for larger projects/ assignments that have department and area impact. Performs basic tasks and functions for professional field of work; Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems; Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data

Problem Complexity ¿ Has the ability to work on multiple projects/deliverables at one time with minimal oversight. Able to quickly adapt to an evolving work demands. Performs basic tasks and functions for professional field of work; Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems; Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data

Autonomy - Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment; may be paired with a mentor; Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor

Knowledge - grasp of professional principles and skills. Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization to include strong writing skills, graphic design, Power Point, PhotoShop, PDFs (HTML experience a plus, but not required)

Influence/People Leadership - May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel
