As part of EQT’s Corporate Communications and Community Relations group, the Community Advisor is primarily responsible for managing the risk and opportunities associated with engaging and informing stakeholders in the regional operating communities where we live and work. As related to this role, stakeholders are defined as landowners, community leaders, local government and elected officials, local non-governmental organizations, local regulators, emergency responders, and the community at large. The Community Advisor must be aligned and have strategic working relationships with other functional groups, such as Land, Production, Drilling & Completions, and Safety & Environment.

Reporting to the Manager, Community Relations – the primary responsibilities of the Community Advisor are:

Provide monthly status updates to local elected officials;

Recommend and distribute charitable contributions; develop regional contributions strategy;

Community integration through attendance at community events, civic organization memberships;

Assist EQT’s land department in fielding and responding to inquiries;

Participate in and lead the development of open houses, tours, and educational awareness opportunities;

Contribute to the development of appropriate educational materials to assist stakeholders in understanding our business;

Actively participate in township planning meetings;

Develop and maintain relationships with local emergency responders;

Speak and present to associations, neighborhood groups, and other local organizations to educate and build goodwill throughout the community;

Manage socio-political issues and relationships in order to establish EQT as the operator of choice, mitigating barriers for growth and advancement in the community;

Attend EQT-sponsored fairs and festivals; and

Provide crisis communication support as required.

Required Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

“Customer service” type attitude and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in full Microsoft Outlook Suite

Self-starter with an ability to quickly grasp and assess technical aspects of the industry

Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously; superior time management skills

Ability to work and communicate well across functional areas and departments

Required Experience

Bachelor degree required; political science, communications, energy management degrees favorable

Three year's business experience; experience in energy sector helpful

Land experience or similar experience helpful; knowledge of industry processes preferred

S/G: 11 (Non-exempt/Hourly)
