Reports to the Director of the Brinton Family Health and Healing Center at the Ruth U. Fertel/Tulane Community Health Center. Conducts community outreach, offers health education to individuals and groups, links community members to health and social services, engages in intra- and inter-agency collaborative efforts to improve individual and community health.
One year of experience working or volunteering with community based programs in New Orleans
Ability to communicate with individuals to educate and facilitate problem solving
Strong commitment to the New Orleans community and its members
Ability to work with community members from diverse backgrounds
Ability to work independently
Familiar with operation of electronic office machines (phones, copier, fax)
Proficient computer experience required; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, including Work and Excel
Minimum Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Willingness to participate in a comprehensive, competency-based community health worker training program.
Ability to present in public speaking environments.
