The Community Outreach Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Community Outreach to implement programs and marketing strategy events, activities and outreach to potential members in compliance with CMS regulations for Medicare as prescribed rules and regulations of the Medicare contract.
Implements community programs in the designated service area by
•Coordinate programs for community residents including marketing and education products directed at membership growth.
•Strengthen member partnerships through marketing and education initiatives with the intention to build stronger retention of members.
•Building community partnerships to specifically increase enrollment and member retention.
•Promote and support Physicians United Plan (PUP) and related initiatives. Promote PUP products and directly assists with accomplishing outreach and enrollment goals.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Nurture new and existing community partnerships to generate referrals.
Promote PUP’s Purpose.
Support and partner with the Sales team and Marketing staff to meet company’s goals.
Follow CMS and internal compliance guidelines and process for events.
Coordinate advertising schedules and placement.
Maintain inventory of photo work, artwork, and film, and maintains marketing literature, archive files, and sample files.
Help prepare for involvement in community organizations and events.
Utilize market feedback to improve our service to out partners and the community we serve.
Blanket target communities with pamphlets and brochures and ensure that marketing supplies are always available.
Compliantly market Medicare and PUP products to all interested and eligible candidates.
Identify target organizations that are engaged in the population served.
Organize and develop successful marketing enrollment events.
Develop and maintain relationships within the business and community organizations.
Contact facilities in service areas to arrange meetings, ensuring all locations meet CMS requirements.
Provide direct member outreach to include education through all available channels, such as, new member orientation, member meetings etc.
Conduct compliant marketing and education presentations to individuals as well as targeted partners.
Provide ongoing assistance to Medicare members. Ensure all member issues are documented and communicated clearly for issue resolution.
Ensure all events, activities, communication, materials, media, promotions, etc. meeting corporate and CMS rules and regulations.
Monitor activities of health industry competitors and provides information to management.
Assist in preparation of all marketing and education events, activities and all presentations to eligible candidates, community partners, provider partners, etc.
Education and/or Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or in related field or equivalent work experience.
Two years sales and/or marketing experience in HMO/Managed Healthcare or Insurance Industry.
Appropriate Health Insurance license required – No violations or disciplinary actions / get license within 90 Days.
Successfully complete all required Medicare state, federal and corporate compliance training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Proficiency in excel and access preferred. To Perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word as well as MS Internet Explorer and design software
Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare regulations and programs.
Ablility to work flexible hours (i.e., events, etc.)
Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities. .
Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone. Able to lift and carry forms and event materials. May require the lifting of boxes of up to 30lbs. Required to use personal transportation for events.
