The basic functions of the Community Relations/Event Planner are to identify, initiate and facilitate potential opportunities for marketing representatives to sell HIP government products. They are responsible for establishing relationships with organizations (i.e. churches, senior centers, schools, Libraries, government agencies, etc.) in order to gain entry for the Marketing representatives to present HIP products, coordinating and planning events in order to obtain successful results, tracking and documenting events in order to analyze effectiveness and financial soundness and maintaining relationships for future or recurrent events.
•Identify and contact organizations that could benefit from our programs; establish and maintain relationships.
•Identify marketing potential including prospective enrollment sites or facilitating enrollment opportunities.
•Organize staffing needs with Medicare/Medicaid Managers and Lead set up and break down of events. Establish Logistics, order promotional items and ensure that all items are delivered prior to the event. Most events are covered by planner if there are no direct opportunities for staff to enroll members.
•Attend community meetings and participate in special projects for networking.
•Responsible for post-event follow up and maintenance of relationships for future and recurring events.
•Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
•Knowledge of government regulations affecting our business.
•Strong project management skills with relentless attention to detail on simultaneous, deadline projects.
•Interpersonal skills to negotiate cooperation and resolve differences across agencies, sales managers, etc.
•Planning and organizational skills sufficient to manage all assignments without supervision productively and promptly.
•Superior written and verbal communication skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and internet.
•Strong knowledge and understanding of health care, Medicare, Medicaid, Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus.
Education and Experience:
•College degree preferably in communications, marketing or business and 2 year’s experience in the Health Care Marketing/Outreach industry.
•Valid drivers license and car required.
