The Contributions and Community Intern will work with the Community Relations and Contributions group which provides overall support and leadership to the enterprise community involvement and philanthropic strategy and programs.
This team works to enhance ARAMARK’s image in the community by developing and promoting programs that will demonstrate the company’s commitment to its corporate citizenship mission while engaging its 250,000 worldwide employees in meaningful volunteer service. The group also leads and manages philanthropic giving including funding mechanisms, strategy and oversight, programs, administration, relationships with non-profit organizations and supports the businesses in their community/charitable giving efforts. The coordinator role will primarily support the administration of the corporate contributions function, supporting community involvement programs and events and administration of Star Teams, our local community and employee engagement channel.
The Community Relations Intern will report to the Director of Community Relations and will support community relations programs, events and research primarily focused on the enterprise philanthropic and volunteer program. ARAMARK Building Community provides grants, in-kind support and engages employees in skills based volunteer activities to strengthen local community centers.
The Community Relations intern must have an interest working in a community relations, philanthropy function, strong communications skills, experience with project management and event coordination.
Help with the tracking and measurement of ARAMARK community involvement activities and employee volunteerism.
Strengthen the employee volunteer recognition program including helping develop and launch a program to incent employees to record volunteer hours.
Support ARAMARK community involvement social media content development and communications strategies including our Facebook page (ARAMARK Building Community) and Twitter.
Support ARAMARK Building Community events which can include planning and logistics, communications, and other components.
Partner with communications director to promote and develop public relations plans for ARAMARK Building Community events.
Provide research and benchmarking support for various initiatives which could include Matching and Volunteer Grants, Executive Board Programs, Disaster Relief and others.
Assist in coordinating ARAMARK participation in various non-profit events, dinners, award ceremonies, etc.
Involved in data management, client/employee surveys and measurement evaluation.
Must be working towards your undergraduate/graduate degree in related field
Must have strong organizational skill and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work well independently.
Career interest in corporate community relations, non-profit work or philanthropy.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with ARAMARK leaders and external community organizations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of philanthropic and civic/non-profit organizations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
