COMMUNITY RELATIONS REP Develops and maintains new contacts and/or partnerships in the community. Leads and manages strategies within a specific territory or business initiative. Responsible for maintaining and growing Anthem’s Medicaid membership through educating and servicing the population. Includes meeting the community’s need for ongoing educational and social service outreach to existing and potential members. Community contacts include providers, health clinics, community aid organizations, health departments and faith/non-profit human services organizations.

Develops and maintains new contacts and/or partnerships in the community. Leads and manages strategies within a specific territory or business initiative. Responsible for maintaining and growing Anthem’s Medicaid membership through educating and servicing the population. Includes meeting the community’s need for ongoing educational and social service outreach to existing and potential members. Community contacts include providers, health clinics, senior centers, long term care facilities community aid organizations, health departments and faith/non-profit human services organizations. Provide home visits, telephonic assistance, outreach and/or guidance to members and potential members regarding benefit and enrollment questions, and/or providing assistance on any social service needs. Will assists with home visits necessary to ensure resolution to members around continuity of care issues. Interface with other department to ensure member’s medical and/or behavioral health needs are addressed. Work with various populations; pregnant women and children, Aged, Blind and Disabled (ABD), and those covered by Medicaid and Medicare (MMP) T he individual should also have a passion to engage community members who may benefit from better utilizing our health care system, and improved health.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages an assigned territory in the state. Implements strategic initiatives that will drive member growth, retention and/or address the health plan priorities.

Ensure consistent compliance with all state, federal and company requirements.

Acts as liaison with community advocacy groups that impacts target population.

Attends networking meetings to deliver key messages.

Identifies, develops and builds relationships with community organizations, provider offices, faith based organizations and perform other activities to enhance Anthem’s presence in the community.

Assists members and potential members with benefit and/or enrollments inquiries, where appropriate and compliant with local market regulations.

Identifies cultural issues and opportunities regarding current and potential members and communicate issues to management.

Tracks all marketing and sales activities, as well as update and maintain results in sales database.

Conduct marketing presentations to increase effectiveness in establishing rapport, assessing individual needs and communicating product/benefit features and differences.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma required

1 year experience in healthcare of sales/marketing environment.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a motor vehicle and must possess valid motor vehicle insurance.

Knowledge about health care and provider network that supports the delivery area.

Additional language fluency (ideally, Spanish) is preferred where needed.

Additional Information: This position is considered hourly, with the same company benefits available for salaried/exempt associates. Associates are to use personal motor vehicles and are reimbursed for business miles at the applicable Federal IRS rate.
