This position assists in the design, administration, and communication of system-wide compensation programs, policies and procedures. This position also works to improve the current compensation programs and ensures that compliance is maintained.
This individual will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of Mary Washington Healthcare and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the community, and co-workers.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Completes analysis of data and information to support the development or modification of internal employee compensation programs and initiatives.
Provides data and support to HR Business Partners and Management on compensation matters of low to moderate complexity.
Partners with other compensation team members to provide analytical and consultative support to multiple business lines in support of business initiatives or strategies.
Responsible for the submission of salary surveys and the analysis of results, including job matching to current positions within the company and development of pay structures.
May administer activities related to any number of compensation programs including base salary, year-end processes, job codes/titles, market pricing database, etc.
Develops and produces queries and reports from Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) in response to compensation and business needs related to compensation.
Calculate salary offers for new hires applicants and internal Associates. Conducts analysis to determine equitability of salary offers to new hires.
Assists in activities surrounding the annual merit planning processes.
Process and approve Personnel Actions Forms.
Conduct on-line market pricing of positions. Recommends the proper grades for new or revised jobs on the basis of the market data.
Conduct workshops for new managers on performance appraisal and compensation philosophy. Provides guidance and training to other HR professionals and line managers related to compensation.
Assists with special projects; classifications studies, salary structure adjustments, compression adjustments and related salary adjustments.
Participates in job analysis and evaluation through the use of internal evaluation system and external market comparison. Interfaces with department management to discuss job evaluation recommendations.
Develops job descriptions/job family hierarchies using information received from job analysis process and interviews with incumbents and/or supervisors.
Provide job code information and assistance to HRIS team with new/existing positions.
Assures compliance with provisions of FLSA/DOL and other applicable regulatory agencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
At least 2 year direct compensation experience.
Knowledge of applicable wage and hour laws (FLSA), federal, state statutes and regulations that pertain to Compensation.
Strong analytical ability with strong mathematical proficiency.
Proficiency with PC’s, strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience with HRIS systems.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
A self-starter with strong multi-tasking capabilities.
Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively prioritize projects.
Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
