NetApp is seeking an energetic, detail oriented, analytical, self-starting Compensation Analyst to join the NetApp HR and Compensation team. This position will report to the Manager of Compensation and will be located at the Sunnyvale, California NetApp office.

Job Summary:

As a subject matter expert, you will utilize your technical competencies and strong project management skills to lead complex, global projects as well as provide internal compensation consultation to HR Business Partners and managers within assigned client groups. You will assure through audits, analysis, reports and personal contact, that NetApp's compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations. Your responsibilities include base pay, incentive pay, survey participation and quarterly compensation reporting and analytics; you will formulate recommendations regarding development of NetApp salary structures (including intern and new college grade compensation), FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures. Projects and programs you could be involved with include our global grade project; annual non-commission focal program and web-based compensation training development.
As a Compensation Analyst you are part of a team that is responsible for planning (through in depth analysis), developing, implementing and administering new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures, in order to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and mathematical/analytical skills, and strong interpersonal skills in dealing with employees at all levels of the organization, including top management.

Essential Functions:
- Formulate recommendations regarding development of company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures.
- Review existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action.
- Perform staff support activities to develop, implement and administer compensation policies and programs.
- Audit jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements.
- Develop and/or participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position.
-Partner with the business (including Line HR Business Partners and Line Management) to understand the compensation needs that will enable success
- Review proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices.
- Provide advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
- Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems.
- Review requests for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignment.
- May prepare special studies and recommendations on subjects such as, incentive compensation and bonus plans.
- May include administration of domestic and/or international programs.
- Develop techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.
- Develop, coordinate and deliver employee and/or Management Compensation trainings.
- Keep apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance.

- Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs; company policies and operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Demonstrated project and time management skills.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; as well as Internet research skills.
- Experience working with HR databases and market analysis tools such as PeopleSoft and Kenexa CompAnalyst.
- Strong and proven analytical skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.

Education and Experience
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of five years as a compensation analyst.
- A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree is required; or equivalent experience.
- Certification as Compensation Professional (CCP) is preferred (or course work towards completion)
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
