Position Description

RAND is seeking a senior-level compensation analyst position to join our team. Responsibilities include salary planning and administration, including the merit increase process; job evaluations and FLSA classifications; variable compensation and awards programs; participation in salary and market surveys and analysis of the resulting data; and preparing market and trend reporting for senior management and other audiences.

This person will also contribute to the development and communication of compensation programs and guidelines, and will support audits and general quality assurance processes. The person will also lead special projects and contribute more broadly by partnering with internal clients and HR. Competitive candidates must possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, solid communication and interpersonal skills and be client-oriented. Organizational and project management skills are also critical. The successful candidate must be a proactive problem solver, adept at working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, but also able to function effectively working independently. Compensation experience in a similar knowledge based or government contracting organization with DCAA and OFCCP requirements is highly desirable.


Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with very strong Excel skills and experienced working with HRIS; Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus.

Education Requirements

BA/BS required, MS/MA/MBA is a plus. PHR/SPHR or CCP certification is also desirable.
