Compensation Analyst PP
Develops, implements, administers compensation and incentive policies, procedures, practices, and programs. Provides guidance and makes recommendations to line managers and generalists on all compensation actions and issues. Responsible for annual compensation activities such as survey participation and salary planning.
Primary Job Duties
Performance and Compensation Process:
Working with division management, CA Human Resources and corporate colleagues plan and execute the division's annual compensation & review project. Coordinate the project schedule, communications, data analysis, review, and approval for base salary increases and annual non-base awards; lead the division?s mid-year salary review.
Special Projects Liaison to Corporate and Project Lead for Division or Department Projects:
Represent California as the Point of contact or Lead on employee services and HBE Compensation projects. Provide the division perspective as requested. Conduct research and prepare proposals for new programs. Partner with other staff members or management on various special projects for the CA site.
Assist with salary analyses to calculate experienced new-hire salary offers in accordance with current corporate guidelines; serve as the primary liaison with corporate counterparts in Sandia/New Mexico for salary and performance review matters.
Regular and ad hoc data reporting and metrics:
Ensure effective reporting and analyses of HR data, including headcount reports, staffing and employment activities, workforce composition, succession planning, talent management, and other critical people-related business metrics. Partner with the HR leadership team, business owners, and functional representatives to develop metrics and reporting specifications. Prepare presentations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of compensation programs and human resources policies.
Analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve routine problems and assist in making recommendations to management.
Knowledge of compensation principles, legislation, and current compensation trends and events that affect compensation programs.
Quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Proficiency in common office software and Sandia's Human Resources Information Systems.
Requires bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience; or master's degree in relevant discipline plus two or more years? experience; or doctorate in relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7- 10 years successful experience in leading Performance and Compensation projects.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems both individually and within teams.
Strong writing and presentation skills.
Experience writing and presenting proposals to executive management.
Knowledge of compensation and human resources principles and legislation for both federal and California.
High proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as HRIS reporting using quantitative analysis, charting, pivot tables, formulas/algorithms, trend analysis and graphing.
Occasional domestic travel may be necessary.

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted Q-level security clearance.
