The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking a highly motivated, skilled and experienced individual to provide competency restoration services in jails/community in an effort to divert state hospital admissions. This position will liaison and collaborate with community providers (both CSB and jail mental health service providers) to ensure individuals court ordered to receive competency restoration services receive aggressive, appropriate psychiatric care. Will provide twice weekly support/education to individuals court ordered to receive competency restoration services to attempt to restore their competency on an outpatient basis. Provide follow up counseling/support/monitoring for individuals discharged from Eastern State Hospital (ESH) to local/regional jails to support psychiatric stability. This is a part time temporary position.

Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a variety of mental illnesses. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to analyze behavior patterns and develop treatment plans to address issue. Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Good crisis management skills. Familiar with forensic mental health issues. Ability to work independently but seek supervision when needed. Ability to establish rapport with individuals in crisis. Experience in working with individuals with major mental illnesses.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in psychology, counseling or social work. Licensed (LPC or LCSW) or Licensed eligible is preferred. Prior experience with forensic patients preferred.
