Competitive Intelligence Research Analyst

Location: Irving - Las Colinas, Texas

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for gathering, analyzing, packaging and disseminating VHA's Competitive Intelligence and Market Research intellectual property. The primary objective of the position is to proactively collect information and distribute market relevant insights to a broad spectrum of internal consumers (e.g., customer service, sales, marketing, business line leaders, and leadership) throughout VHA and Novation.


Collect relevant and timely competitive intelligence information through a host of research methods (e.g., internet searches, industry databases, quarterly statement and public relations announcements, win/loss studies, sales interviews, etc.).

Monitor customer needs as identified in the public domain such as blogs, social networks, conferences, and literature.

Collect and catalog results from primary market research conducted throughout organization.

Populate competitor library/database including VHA comparable data; and populate customer database with information on existing customers and pipeline.

Manage info-integrator tool for real-time gathering of competitor activity.

Organize all insights, research results, and best practices into a central repository for analysis. Synthesize topical information as needed for presentation content.


Bachelor's Degree required, 3-5 years’ experience

5+ years' experience in business strategy and or business intelligence (competitor and/or market research).

Ability to apply business-oriented perspective to all conclusions and deliverables, drawing out the 'so what, now what' for stakeholders.

Solid understanding of quantitative analysis, with the ability to interpret, evaluate and communicate outcomes.

Capable of communicating ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.

Requires competencies in communication, persuasiveness, project management, and business acumen.

Strong ability to interact with varying levels of customers in the organization.

Deep knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
