About the Unit
The Office of Corporate Compliance (OCC) is committed to promoting conduct that is responsible, ethically sound, and compliant with applicable law. The OCC fosters a corporate culture of ethical behavior and integrity in all matters related to compliance with the laws and regulations that govern the delivery and billing of health care. The OCC administers a Health Care Integrity Program (HCIP) that places particular emphasis on compliance with billing, coding, and documentation requirements. Additionally, the OCC, through the HIPAA Privacy Program, supports compliance with the privacy and security standards set forth in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Finally, the OCC actively participates in research compliance and conflict of interest management initiatives.
Unit Job Summary
Compliance Coordinator: Provides support to the entities described below using strong computer and interpersonal skills; assists with investigations, audits and reviews, participates in implementing training sessions and may assist in developing training materials and coordinates committee meetings, assists in the preparation of communications and maintains compliance documentation.
Bachelor's degree or a minimum of three years of relevant experience required.
Experience in an academic medical center or other large, complex corporate organization preferred.
Experience with Oacis, GE Centricity Enterprise (Last Word), GE Centricity Business (IDX), and Epic preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency navigating windows-based computers (PCs) required.
Advanced proficiency and experience of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel ,and PowerPoint required.
Proven aptitude to establish and maintain detailed, accurate records is required.
Demonstrated capacity to work independently in an organized, detailed manner while maintaining a collaborative team environment is required.
Demonstrated deductive and investigative skills for problem solving technical problems as well for contribution to compliance investigations required.
Established skill in managing multiple projects while responding to shifting priorities and meeting changing deadlines in a positive manner is required.
Analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently on a specific task in a professional work group required.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, respond to shifting priorities, meet deadlines, maintain accuracy and function efficiently in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times required.
