Compliance Review Specialist Vidant Medical Group Knowledge of regulatory guidance impacting Vidant Medical Group, including but not limited to the OIG compliance guidance for Physician Practices, OIG annual work plan, HIPAA and Medicare/Mediaid billing guidelines. Maintains and updates Vidant Medical Group Compliance Plan. Monitors select compliance criteria and appropriately maintains documentation of compliance activities. Performs initial survey and obtains background information relating to inquiries on activities and operations of a compliance nature by referring to and interpreting regulations, policies and procedures. Develops accessible lines of communication regarding possible fraudulent or erroneous conduct issues. Responds appropriately to detected violations through investigation of allegations and the disclosure of incidents to the Director of Clinical Quality. Develops, corrdinates, and participates in training that focuses on the elements of Vidant Medical Group Compliance Plan, and seeks to ensure that training materials are appropriate. Conducts internal auditing and monitoring of provider documentation as prescribed by Vidant Medical Group Compliance Plan.

Four year college degree required. Minimum of 3 years coding and documentation experience required. Licensure as CPC ,CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT required. Substitution: Registered Nurse with active license in NC, and a minium of 5 years of coding and documentation audit experience plus CPC or CCS-P certification, may be substituted for the education and experience requirement; or 2-year Associates Degree with 2 or more nationally recognized coding certifications with 3 to 5 years coding experience.
