NVR Mortgage finance, Inc. is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to assume the position of Compliance Specialist.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for branch adherence to Equal Credit Opportunity Act disclosure requirements with specific focus on NVR’s adverse action policy. Individual will ensure all timing requirements are met and customer disclosures are performed accurately, including incomplete applications, denials, withdrawals, counter offers and approvals.
Responsible for management of pipeline in regards to timely and accurate 60-day RESPA disclosures for all loan officers.
Responsible for routine supervision and management of shared server with home building division along with accompanying necessary RESPA disclosing associated with any material changes as defined by RESPA.
Occasional review of pre-processing loan file checklists and required follow-up on errors/omissions with loan officer team as required.
Occasional review of pre-closing and pre-shipping checklists along with full compliance audit as required based on volume in branch.
Occasional training of branch personnel in aspects pertaining to compliance, regulation and company policy. Individual is to remain in close contact with NVRM QC Department and Business Operations team to help communicate and ensure adherence to policy within branch.
Must possess a complete understanding of the Quality Control/Audit guidelines and procedures to ensure the loans processed for underwriting and settlement meet our company standards.
Responsible for accurate pipeline reporting including accurate settlement dates and expedient removal of loans that are cancelled from home building backlog.
Responsible for proper adherence to NVR’s policy on assigned FHA loans, including proper disclosure per State and HUD guidelines.
Provide weekly updates to the branch management team regarding progress against quality metrics, individual performance trends and open items/issues that need escalation and further management involvement.
Participate in weekly meetings with processing and closing staff to discuss any operational changes, Quality Control memos or significant developments in the area of compliance/policy.
Individual should be comfortable in a training role and able to conduct regular training, both in group setting and one-on-one with current staff and new employees. Training will be ongoing with focus on retention and reiteration of policy. Experience and Qualifications
Experience in the mortgage industry is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in an environment where priorities and needs change quickly. Experience managing a project or process is beneficial.
Proven experience with technology solutions and technical implementations, especially focused on planning, requirements definition/needs analysis, testing and user training.
Highly driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems.
Good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to interact effectively and manage relationships with a diverse peer group.
Good problem analysis and critical thinking experience. Ability to understand high level business need/impact and practical application.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively identify inefficient processes and manage changes necessary to improve core business functions and procedures.
