Computer Administrator
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1) Responsible

    for operating computer systems on various platforms, operating and maintaining

    peripheral equipment, scheduling, executing, and monitoring system and

    application programs to ensure timely completion of scheduled tasks and

    maintaining data backup and recovery management systems.

    2) Executes

    application processes on various platforms utilizing job schedulers and manual

    execution, ensuring established service levels are achieved.

    3) Controls

    printing and distribution of reports to proper locations, and maintaining a

    high print quality.

    4) Maintains

    all equipment in operational status, and reports equipment problems to the

    correct maintenance provider. Monitors

    computer room environmental data reports variances that trigger alarms or

    compromise the environment.

    5) Completes

    a support ticket when software or hardware problems occur, and routes and

    notifies the report to the appropriate person(s); notifies management when the

    problem affects the production schedule and application availability.

    6) Completes

    Operations run sheets and verification log for review by the Team Leader of IT


    7) Provides

    thorough, detailed turnover to the Operator(s) coming in on the next shift.

    8) Reviews

    the procedure manuals to keep current on operational procedures, and to suggest

    any changes.

    9) Utilizes

    file transfer software to send and receive data from various third parties and


    10) Maintains

    magnetic media in the tape backup system for each computer platform,

    encompassing storage and retrieval of in-house and offsite media.

    11) Performs

    inventories of in-house/offsite tapes and consumable supplies.

    12) Promotes

    application changes to the test and production environments using change

    control software and any special instructions provided.

    13) Performs

    application administrative responsibilities as assigned.

    14) Participation

    in project activities as needed.

    15) Ensures

    compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations to ensure safe

    Must Haves:
    • Associate’s
    degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
    • 2 or more
    years of experience working in Information Systems or Computer Operations
    related position
    • General
    knowledge and background of Windows 2000/03/Vista, Sun/Solaris, and IBM AIX
    • Basic
    knowledge of how Unix scripts, DOS, .BAT files and related editors work on each
    • Proficient
    in using Microsoft word; good technical and personal communication skills
