Candidate must have one (1) year of college in Computer Information Systems, Microcomputer Technology or one (1) year of computer hardware and software support experience or computer instruction. Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License or equivalent issued by another state.

General Purpose:
Under general supervision, provide training in basic computer skills, software applications, internet use and access and other specific curriculum topics such life-long learning literacy skills.

Typical Duties:
Provide individual and group computer training sessions in Public Computer Centers. Involves: Adhere to City’s employee Code of Conduct and the policies and procedures set by the host training site. Assist in training curriculum development and revision and manual and electronic data collection. Train and provide supervision and assistance to participants during scheduled computer access times. Resolve user inquiries or requests for computer assistance. Troubleshoot and resolve routine hardware and software problems, and refer more complex technical issues to higher level staff. Assist in the recruitment of class participants and volunteer computer mentors. Maintain high level of communication with other staff. Involves: Work closely and in coordination with management, supervisors and personnel as required. Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned. Involves: Attend periodic training to enhance skills. Assist in preparing completion certificates and other forms or reports as required. Replenish supplies. Monitor lab equipment; replace printer paper and toner as needed. Maintain a comfortable and safe working environment for users. Perform other related duties as assigned.
